Square Numbers as Exponents

What are Square Numbers?
A square number is what you get when you multiply a number by itself. We write this using an exponent: n2. For example, 32 = 3 × 3 = 9. The small "2" means "multiply the number by itself." It's called a "square" number because you can arrange that many dots in a perfect square shape!
